Kid’s Programs
Ready to spark curiosity and a love for agriculture in the next generation? Farmamerica offers a variety of engaging programs just for kids- from exciting day camps and school field trips to weekly activities all summer long with Summer Kids Club, there is something for every young explorer.
Field Trips
Farmamerica offers in-person Agriculture Evolution Field Trips designed for 2nd – 4th grade school groups (homeschool groups are always welcome.) We are committed to providing fun, engaging, and educational field trips in a safe and hands-on environment. With the help of interpreters, exhibits, and unique hands-on experiences, your students will learn the rich history of Minnesota agriculture starting in the 1800s and conclude with the discovery of their personal connections to today’s agriculture.
Ag Evolution Field Trips run from 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM, with a 25-minute lunch break. We ask that students bring their own sack lunch and water bottle.
Field trips are dependent upon our volunteer availability and may include:
1850s Homestead: Students learn how life evolved for families during their first few years in Minnesota.
One-Room Schoolhouse: Students compare and contrast their schooling experience with that of students from the mid-1900s.
1930s Dairy Farm: Explore the barn and experience live animals. Then, see what a home from this era looked like to contrast their current homes.
Blacksmith Shop: Our blacksmith fires up the forge to demonstrate the job of a blacksmith in the mid-1900s and discuss what blacksmiths do today.
Ag Around You Discovery Center: Students use a scavenger hunt to explore how agriculture is part of their daily lives.
“The best thing that ever happened to me at school was when we went to the Farmamerica field trip in 3rd grade.”
We are now booking for Spring 2026. Field Trips are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. For dates and more information, please call 507-835-2052 or email morgan@farmamerica.org.
This year, we are offering a group rate of $5 per student. Teachers and chaperones attend free of charge.

Summer Group Programs
This summer, we're excited to offer three special event days for school-aged childcare groups!
Each of these events will run from 10 AM - 2 PM and will cost $10/student. Attend for a couple of hours or stay for the entire event.
These events are designed to be enjoyed at your own pace. Unlike our previous Private Day Camps, students will not be assigned to guided groups throughout the day. We ask that groups provide one chaperone for every 5-8 students so you can divide into smaller groups and explore activities at your own pace.
June 12th: Barnyard Explorers
Barnyard Explorers is a fun-filled, hands-on event where kids can discover the animals that live on farms and learn about the important role they play in producing the food we eat and products we use every day.
Enjoy close-up animal visits with our live animals, taste testing, bounce houses, plus plenty of exciting activities along the way. It's the perfect day to explore, learn, and make unforgettable memories on the farm!
July 24th: Garden Explorers
Dig into the world of gardens, crops, and growing! Explore soil science, hydroponics, and learn all about pollination through fun, sensory activities. It's a playful way to discover how our gardens and crops thrive!
August 19th: Farm-to-Fork Explorers
Join us for a delicious adventure into the journey of our food. Enjoy taste testing and explore how fresh ingredients travel from the farm to our table. It's a fun and tasty way to learn about farming, food, and healthy eating.
